Our mission
A cargo bike no bigger than it needs to be
Most electric cargo bikes are designed as though everyone were the same height and every street the same width. We started at the other end: with the people who drag one out of the shed every day.
A loaded cargo bike easily weighs a hundred and fifty kilos. As soon as that load sits high, you hold it upright with your whole body — pulling away, parking, at every kerb. Hanging the box between the wheels rather than above them takes most of that struggle away.
The same thinking runs through the rest of the bike. Two smaller motors instead of one heavy one, so the weight stays low and spread out. An automatic hub, so a red light never becomes a gear decision. And a braking system where one lever reaches all three wheels, because an emergency is no moment for a choice.
- −35%lower centre of gravity than a classic cargo bike
- −40%shorter braking distance thanks to CBS
- −40%less charging with 800 Wh
The minica is built by GWA Energy in Taiwan, who have spent fifteen years developing drivetrains for light electric vehicles. We bring it to the Netherlands, build it in your colours and keep it running.
